Adam Stool – Hender Scheme x Frama

The new collection by Frama presents objects designed according to the Japanese artisan craftsmanship that has made Hender Scheme internationally known. They are user-friendly furniture made from wood, aluminium and clay, materials that conserve their natural appearance, bear leather details and possess the ability to transform with time. The classic “Adam” stool by Frama is redefined through this grey colouring that highlights the juxtaposition between the different materials while the leather basket offers additional utility.

Around a Leaf – david/nicolas for Nilufar Gallery

The successful duo of David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussallem from Lebanon dubs its works “functional sculptures” that explore the limits of materials and maintain a connection to history. The circular low table “Around a Leaf” was the result of a dialogue between industry and nature. There is a prevailing sense of harmony, with the surrounding row of wooden leaves unifying all the different parts that constitute the table: the black semi-polished coated metal frame, the casted sandblasted bronze feet and the green colour coating.

Celine Dining Chair – CLO Studios

Jewellery, furniture and interior design group CLO was founded by the mother and daughter duo Trudy and Chloe Tozer in Australia. In the recent “Marrakesh” collection, the influence of the Moroccan aesthetic is evident: the chairs, seating, tables, fabrics, mirrors and impressive vases and candlesticks have irregular proportions that give the impression of the handmade. The “Celine” chair is crafted to endure outdoor conditions and its rhythmic metallic curves undoubtedly fit well with elements of nature.

Brut Bar Cart – Studio Anansi for Sight Unseen

Sight Unseen design magazine’s first collection consists of metal furniture with strict geometry, manufactured by Bestcase. In one of the collection's objects, the “Brut Bar Cart”, the contrast between the thin, harsh, stainless steel side views and the curvy, semi-translucent resin handle prevails. The archetypal form of the furniture piece, inspired by Brutalist architecture, is disrupted since the wheels are absent, giving the furniture permanency but also a unique look.

Column Table Lamp – Norm Architects for Menu

The form of this small portable lamp takes after the bitts mounted on a ship. It has a simple but impressive and strict silhouette, true to the Scandinavian design of Norm Architects, who combine technology with naturalness and modern style. It is made of aluminium and is available in its natural shade and in bronze, while it functions indoors and outdoors.

A-Part – Nikos Kastanakis and Loukas Chondros

In their first attempt to design a functional piece of furniture and while in lockdown, Nikos Kastanakis (industrial designer and founder of Oxymoro Design) and Loukas Chondros (product & industrial designer) created this versatile bench. Its clever design allows two people to keep a distance from each other, while they can gradually bridge the gap by moving the wooden pieces, playing with the feeling of void and fullness. This relationship is also evident in the title, which can be read as both "apart" and "a part".

Piton Portable Lamp – Tom Chung for Muuto

The name of this small portable lamp refers to its “climbing” nature since it can be rigged in various positions through the use of ropes or other tools. It also reveals the inspiration source of its designer Tom Chung, who was influenced by rock-climbing tools for the lamp’s grip and generally by the archetypal form of the flashlight. Thus emerged this modern, lightweight lamp made from anodised aluminium that can endure harsh weather conditions.

Gamar Wardrobe Stand – Spacon & X for e15

Studio Spacon & X (Spatial Conversion & Cross-functionalism), based in Copenhagen, has been dealing with many areas of design on a large and small scale since 2014. For the "Gamar" collection, oak was chosen as the main material of a chair, a stool, a hanger and various tables. The elegant junctions between the different wooden surfaces as well as the solid construction itself justify the choice of the furniture’s simple geometry.

Arcs Candleholder – Muller Van Severen for HAY

A row of arches is folded to surround the candle placed in the “Arcs” candleholder. The base of the object results from the same metal sheet, giving fluidity to the candlestick. The result is an elegant, simple and novel small object, which stands out with its intense colour.

Luxury Handles – marios.design & Michael Dimou Design Studio

Marios Krokos, industrial designer and object producer with experience in creating luxurious small objects such as ashtrays and handles, collaborated with Michael Dimou, industrial designer and mechanical engineer, for the "Luxury Handles" collection, which combines sculpture and ergonomics. They are one-piece, curvy handles and are fully functional no matter how they are placed on the door.
