Eleftheria Tseliou gallery is happy to present 'The Landscape Show'. The exhibition will be on display till the 9th of April 2022.

Following 'The Still-Life Show' that took place at the gallery in 2019, 'The Landscape Show' is the second edition of the series of shows, which aim to explore topics from the history of art. During its long history, landscape painting often changes content and purpose. This exhibition will occur in quest of placing Landscape today.

The exhibition revolves around three different, cutting-edge approaches to Landscape: A landscape painting by monumental Greek modernist painter Spyros Papaloukas (1892 - 1957), a work by emblematic artist Richard Long and a printed on the wall abstract from the second letter by Carl Gustav Carus (1789-1869) on landscape painting. These three approaches set the tone for the rest of the show, which develops on the gallery walls with works by historical and contemporary Greek artists. A bench has been built in the middle of the gallery, especially for books/points of reference in the bibliography on landscape painting, to be placed in a vitrine. On the same bench, a series of postcards from emblematic landscapes from the history of art has been produced especially by the gallery -in a unique edition- solely for the purpose of being showcased.

Two videos of Robert Smithson and Michael Snow are also included in the show.
