The new collection by the shoe company is titled “Good tools for a good life” and as can be inferred by the name, consists of objects and accessories for the home, made -with quality materials- for a better daily life.

The well-known Spanish shoe company Camper, based in Majorca, is launching its first accessory collection. The worldwide known brand, founded by Lorenzo Fluxà in 1975 and which has since developed more than 400 stores in 40 countries, specialised in footwear until recently. The Camper Goods project is a collection of objects, homeware and decor objects that are an ode to the Mediterranean-inspired design and traditional crafting techniques. Once again, as with footwear, aiming for comfort, the company goes one step further by promoting durability and sustainability. Design and aesthetics act as a source of inspiration and as the philosophy of the brand, which focuses on new materials and new types of use.

The motto “Good tools for a good life” announces the new philosophy of Camper, promoting interaction between humans and nature and pushing consumers towards more conscious purchases. The series presents a selection of objects made by different designers with high-quality materials of natural origin, such as handmade candles wrapped in natural beeswax, while functionality and minimalist aesthetics are also central to the design.

Some objects from their “Goods” category that stood out for us:

1. This portable LED mushroom lamp is made from approximately 220 recycled corks. Designed by Ramón Úbeda and Otto Canalda, it promotes social integration since the wine corks were collected from Barcelona restaurants and it also highlights the need for environmental awareness and material reuse.

2. The Roll-Up bin, designed by Michel Charlot. This Non-P PVC, flexible and waterproof bin comes in various colours that are a reference to buoys. One more item that aims to inform and promote a cleaner environment as litter is directly linked to water pollution. The shape and size of the bin can be altered for the needs of the user and can hold up to 30 liters.

3. The Cesta lamp (main picture) is designed by Miguel Milá and it’s a hand-blown white opal glass shade supported by a cherry wood structure, created using Spanish traditional steam-bending techniques.

4. The active charcoal and stainless steel water filter. Enlisting the natural beneficial properties of charcoal, Camper designs a filter that fits any bottle, based on the logic of submerged charcoal in water for at least an hour as charcoal naturally cleans tap water after the first hour of immersion.

5. Last but not least, this wine and champagne cooler is handmade from a solid piece of Estremoz marble stone in Sintra, Portugal. The 1.5-centimeter thick walls of the marble vessel retain the cool temperature, exploiting the material’s natural tendency to cooler temperatures. The material has a handmade finish and its distinctive marbling remains visible.
